Ricotta cream with honey and nuts (Ricotta al miele e noci)

Ingredients

  • 200 g freshly made ricotta;
  • 2 tbsp honey;
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream;
  • 3 tbsp ground walnuts, hazelnuts or almonds (or a combination to taste);
  • pinch of cinnamon or vanilla (optional);
  • zest of ½ lemon (grated, optional) or a few drops of lemon juice.

Directions

  1. Grind the nuts and the grate lemon zest;
  2. In a bowl, put the ricotta and cream and mix well;
  3. Add the honey, nuts and spices and mix carefully;
  4. Divide into small bowls. Garnish with a little more honey and a few whole nuts if desired;
  5. Store in a container, in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Notes

Variations:

  • Add chopped seasonal fruits (strawberries, apricots, figs, grapes).
  • Replace honey with stevia, cherry jam, raspberries, or berries.
